    Hi All
This is my effort so far on this Coree 200mm German -- 'Schwein gehabt'. ("A close call"). I did not like the original pose of the soldier smoking so I modified him to hold his cap looking at the bullet hole.
The arm position was changed to accomadate the cap and the cap was made from lead foil.
I still have a couple of tweaks, make a sling, still undecided whether to put some ground work down on this one. May add a cigarette.
Any critique most welcome, always wanting to improve.
    cheers
    Richie

    Hi Richie,

Nice work on a difficult camouflage pattern.

Just one comment: The german title doesn't make sense at all; eine enge nennen seems like a Google translate result; three correct german words, but their combination is not.

If you like the title 'A Close Call' you can best translate this as 'Schwein gehabt'. This is informal speak for having a lot of luck.

I hope this is of any use!

    Cheers,
    Adrian

    Re: "Eine enge nennen"

Yes, definitely an automatic translation. :) You could alternatively say "Das war knapp!" meaning "That was close!", but "Schwein gehabt" does sound snappier as a title.

With the resources available on here there shouldn't be any need to use those awful online translators - they almost always mangle the language. We have people from all over the world looking in here. Maybe gordy could start a new forum section for incidental language help like this?

As regards the figure; I always like to see people making their own little alterations and improvements. Good show! (y)

    Hi Lads and Thanks

Philippe - thanks for the compliment on the camo, I have a book Waffen SS Uniforms In Colour Photograph's by Andrew Steven & Peter Amodio which I used for the reference. I can certainly recommend this book.

Adrian - thanks for the compliment and the correction. I have edited the title in respect of your advice.

Harry - thanks for the advice, if I title any in the future I will seek advice on the planet first. I seem to be making quite a few small alterations lately, I have also done this with the US Pacific Pilot I have posted and changed the left arm position. I like to give them my own little twist and uniqueness. Next step to start sculpting.

thanks again for your time and advice much appreciated
    cheers
