My work at the moment is a bit worts'n'all, the prosses is a bit like a tadpole what you start out with and what you end up with are two differant things..... see previous thread on the 33rd Regt.
    I'm constantly correcting,boy its frustraiting!
That tells its no gift, and I dont like giving in to any thing.........Stubborn is the word.
But thanks' for you kindness and for looking!!!

    Hi All,
    another instalment of my progress.
The "glengarry" was too small, and the neck needed fattening....Ho and I've added the shape of the badge but no detail yet.
    Best Regards

    Hi All,
its been some time since the last post on this project, but its still on going, and not turned in to the unfinished for good box( the bin).....

    Hi Paul,
I love this period in history please not give up on this piece, keep pushing, even if you need to put it back down, it is far too good for the bin. This epitomise's the Victorian soldier in every aspect, wonderful character in the face. Looking forward to seeing the finish.
    cheers
    Richie

    Hi Jon and Richie,
thanks' for posting and happy new year to you both.
I have a few more hours work on him to sculpt more detail and then clean up for a casting?
May have boobed for an in one cast may need to remove his head, but all this way off yet......
I need to be happy with all of it before then.
Falt finding is easy when its your own work, but running and walking are the same but differant if you know what I'm waffling on about.
    Thanks' as always.
    Best Regards
    Paul ;)

    Paul,
like your effort very much - youve stolen a march on my post just before Xmas, cos i have been working on something very similar! (80th foot, MI, 1879) I too was proposing to use the glengarry, but will probably change it now - in fact, i may change the whole thing!!
i wish you success with your efforts - if you need help with moulding casting etc, send me a PM
    cheers
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
    cheers matey,
I've been dragging my heels on this for months, well 5 of them, lazy / another project /very poor attention span more like, I started to loose sight of where I wanted to take the bust,I started "The Boatswain" as a sculpt and painted 3 figures in that time!!
I confess I spotted your threads, and thought holy cow you and I have the same taste in periods The stunner! was the Russo Japan war, I started a Japanese cavalry officer figure in 54mm but endded up in the bin. Untouched area me thinks....
Thanks' for the offer on casting mate,I had started inroads on this but may go nowhere.
    I'll let you know,kind offer(y)
As for changing your work, hell no!! keep going,if your last bust was any thing to go by...NEAT! Do'nt stop.
Be good to see another, the guys from the 80th staff's re-enactment group would be chuffed.
I can't upload their pictures to show where my idea come from.
    Thanks' for posting
    Best Regards
