Here is my next piece for Stu's Black Sheep range...

It's a Maurice Corry Sculpt of a Light Infantry Officer of the Peninsula War and a release date will follow :)

Cast in the usual light grey resin ( which is non smelly and cuts like a hard injection plastic ) the ten parts require a minimum of clean-up.....

Here is a shot of the parts from the package....

And a few shots of the cleaned up and dry assembled main components....

As always a wonderful sculpt and casting, but what date is represented here and what references used for the work ?

Well, very nicely sculpted piece! My only concern would be the downward glance, it's hard to know where to focus on a bust who's face is not addressing the viewer. Will follow your progress.

Definitely looks good to me, despite the downward look. A couple of minutes research shows that there are 6 regiments that this figure could be painted as, with the paired lace.
43rd Monmouthshire - white facings and silver lace
51st (2nd Yorks) - grass green facings with gold lace
52nd Oxfordshire - buff facings and solver lace
68th Durham - bottle green and silver lace
85th Bucks Volunteers - yellow facings with silver lace
90th Perthshire Volunteers - buff facings and gold lace

    200mm = 1/9 or 1/10 may I ask?

Always been a fan of Maurice Corry sculpts but this one comes with such an attitude and posture it is something different yet. Look fwd to a similar treatment with WW2 subjects from the master!

    Hi Mark ,
Now this is nice and a definate purchase from me ..roll on the release date ...well done Moz and Stormtroopers.(y)

The downward glance is like Jay says hard to define the focus but its more than made up by the wondeful lacework .

Possibly and only IMHO I would probably extend the back to end around the same place as the pelise and increase the base .

Really looking forward to seeing this one start so...get painting mate .full SBS please especialy on the lace work !!!!!

    Nap(drooling!!!:))

    Hi everybody,

WOW, many thanks for your interest and kind words.

The bust is of an officer 43rd Monmothshire regiment 1808/ 15 ie the napoleonic period.

Moz offered this to me and it was hard to resist. It is based around a picture of an officer called Napier the other details elude me at present but I have attached a photo of him and the masterfrom moz.

I will be at crewe and will have some with me.

I expect its release to be mid to late march and it will only be available through my black sheep range on my website or red lancers so I can keep some control over supply with my other releases due to come out soon also.

Glad you like it and if you need any more help please just ask.

Anybody want one at crewe mail or pm me

    Cheers

    Stuart
