After having completed some large scale pieces recently i thought i'd have a change and try something a bit smaller,having looked through my stock of pegaso 54mm i decided on the ninja nippon warrior,this is a beautifully sculpted little figure which i picked up at last years euro millitaire,what attracted me most to the figure was the pose of the figure,i do like figures with movement in them and this one was no exception.
Having decided upon the figure i did'nt want to use the small metal base supplied with the kit,what i had in mind was more of a roof top setting depicting perhaps the ninja creeping up on his victim,to accomplish this i had previously picked up a resin sheet of a roof-top of the mederteranian / far east style which i decided to use,{i have added a picture of this},i decided to have the roof at an angle showing the warrior coming down upon his victim.
There is a limited amount of colour used to paint this piece as most 70% of the ninja clothing was black or dark leather so i decided to have a try at compleating it in acrylics,this was a big step for me because i've always finished my figures in oils so the challenge for me was on.
Having completed the figure i am perhaps 70% happy with the way it turned out considering it was my first acrylic piece.
I've started to practise with this technique recently as i dont want to totally dissregard acrylics as a final finishing medium,i hope my fellow painters will enjoy the pictures,all coments and critisim appriciated please dont be too hard on me about the acrylic finish.

Did you use a flash for your photos?

I can feel you with the acrylics!! I am learning them myself. Your pics look really harsh with the flash. Try to angle your flash upwards and cover it with a piece of paper folded in two to filter the light a bit. SHould help. Great figure though. Would love to see more pics with less flash

Gordy,Jason,Alexandros,Rob : Thanks for the input,the photo's look terrible now i've seen them again with the flash,i've now deleted them and tried to take a few more without the flash,i had a new cannon powershot digital camera for xmas and i'm struggling with it in terms of taking model photo's,unfortunately i'm not that clued up on photography so you'll have to bear with me,thanks again for the kind comments,

Flint,i purchased the resin roof tile section from a company in the UK called NETMERCHANTS INTERNATIONAL SCALE MODEL COMPANY,i have added a picture for your attension,it's not cheap but you get a section just smaller than A4 size paper so its worth the money.
