Mike, Mario, Grant, thanks a bunch gents!

Mike, yeah, admittedly, most of my painting time is spent on my "art" nowadays, but I'm trying to keep a figure project going on the side. I've found a fairly nice ballance of time for both so far. We'll see how that fares when deadlines loom! I've been accepted into two galleries now, so figure painting time is looking precious in the near future! Thanks!

Wow Jay! That really looks good. Your work is an inspiration. Because of you, I am going to try to have 2 busts done this Winter for Atlanta. Anyway, I have also messed around with those pearl powders. I have mixed them with a acrylic, oil and clear type paints and mediums. Have also airbrushed them. It was a tip I got from Amazing Figure Modeler magazine several years ago. It can add a silk effect to clothing if used correctly. I like them. But I have made similar results by just adding a little metallic medium to the the paint(acrylic).

Are you going to Atlanta? My plans are to go, but I haven't bought any tickets so far. Would like to share a room again if you are.

Hey Brad, hells yeah! Let's split a room again. I'm a little shocked it's been nearly a year since the last Atlanta show!!!!! Damn, I'm gettin' old! We'll talk about plans soon.

Oh, and thanks for the kind words. Busts huh? Seems I've been a bad influence! Excited to see what you've come up with!

Late seeing this one Jay, like it alot. The skin tones are your usual fine work but I especially like the somewhat faded wood texture on the mask.

As always you have pushed the envelope with irridescent paints on the feathers ( real tropical bird feathers are that way ) perhaps they might be carried a bit further.

Thanks a bunch for the kind words Richard.

Yup, the pearlescent thing is a work in progress. This is the first time I've used the pearl-powders so needless to say, you're right, I could have gone farther with them. Next time I break them out I'll see if I can't push the pearly limits a bit more! Thanks again!
