So I decided to put a face to my rendition of Romeo's offering of this 90mm Teutonic Knight and depict him as a Hospitaller Knight.....used Pegaso's Greek Strategos face, copied with Siligum Moulding Paste and done with MS.....hair, beard and rolled mail coif all done in Duro......up till now he turned out to resemble Jesus Christ or even St.John :) will see how he turns out after the paint splashing after all.......

    Before primer........

    Very cool Ray!
I look forward to your painting of this....
One small question if I may....what tool did you use to make the Duro mail? It looks great.

    hello
i think if you paint this an some follower of an knightly order the hair is not the right look.as far as i know those men where warriormonks and so i believe the did not wear the hair in the fashion of the nobles of the more earthbound natures.its believed some wore even the tonsure in military service.
sure it looks quite nice but iam not sure if this is historic right.i like the figure but would change the very coarse binding of the dagger hilt, metall wire bindings so early are not done.and an silk or other overbinding of the grip does not wear on so thick.for the early age the dagger itself is wrong too.this form of dagger does appear at around 1350 much too late for the depicted periode.
sorry but thats the weapon collector in me.at this date normaly very plain knifelike daggers where worn.most like would be an antennadagger with singleedged blade or an ringpommel dagger.in no way i want cause anger with my comment.
    cheers

Jay, Adrian, David, Derek, Jim, Tsanos, Joe, Tony, Jose Luis, Alexandros, Melanie, Markus, Marc, Serkan, Karsten, thank you all for the interest, much appreciated.

Adrian, the tool I used was a 0.5mm brass rod. With each next indentation, I "moved" the Duro to the left so to create the "C", then I turned the Duro area upside down so I kept working from left to right. Obviously when you come to the "end" you have to "adjust" with a pointed needle :)

Markus, I'm aware re Historical aspect of all things you mentioned, since I come from the land of the Knights myself :) but as I said in the first posting, I took some liberty with some artistic licence as I liked the way he started to turn out with a Jesus or St.John lookalike :) again he may or may not remain so after the paint splashing after all :(
