This is a 90mm kit by Soldiers. I have always wanted to paint this guy and was very surprised at how clean the casting was. It is as good if not better than any Pegaso kit I have painted. I painted him with acrylics, the armor is buffed metal aged with oil. Please let me know what you think good or bad. I appreciate any and all advice.

You're getting the hang of this painting hobby. This must be your best work to date, the deep reds, heraldry and flesh tones are all excellent. Wouldn't mind one of the shield head on, please.

Excellent work Mike. I like the red sur-coat as well as the armor. I've never tried the buffed technique.

Beautiful work mike on a fabulous figure, like the red and the heraldry is good to. I also have one of the first castings of this figure and the matching Scottish knight that goes with it, some of the best casting I have seen.

    Cheers

Guys thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement.

Guy, give the buffing a try I think it makes for a very realistic metal finish (afterall it is real metal)

Tommi; I'm not sure how old mine was. I bought it from Costa's and the box did look pretty old so it may have been an early casting also.

Thank you again everybody for posting.

Wow, you are on a very steep learning curve Mike!
    This looks really excellent!
I love the burnished metal method of working. Can't get better metallics than that IMO.

Your photos look a bit faded however; maybe try some other settings on the camera...?

    Cheers,
    Adrian

Thank you guys so much for the very nice words.

Adrian; My picture taking ability is not the best and I have no idea how to change settings except for the little flower button :) Perhaps I will ask my wife for assistance, but you know where that leads.

Again thanks so much for the encouragement. I have learned so much from others on these boards through their critiques and advice. Thank goodness it is finally starting to sink in.
