Hello, everyone.
I have completed the lastest model at last.
(U-BOOT KRIEGSMARINE 1942 VERLINDEN120mm)
I used oil paints for completion.
It's used quite more than usual.

I couldn't find good painting about a ground work.

If everyone would enjoy himself with this, I'm happy.

For me the key word here, is PASTEL. . . such a lovely job of painting this
figure. The photos are wonderful. The black surround works so well in this
instance, altho I have been critical of that approach with some pictures, in
the past. And your flesh tone work is so fine. I'm like Kermit the Frog,
Green with envy. . . well a little bit maybeeeeee. Could Be????

The rendering of both hands with those beautiful flesh tones are worth the
price of admission all by themselves. I really like the base so much and
the name plate. In total, a really very classy presentation. Congratulations,

Hi Mitsutaka,

This has turned out rather nicely! I especially like the way you paint the clothes, the colours blend so well.

Too bad about the lack of reference on groundwork. Then again the pose of this kit is not very elaborate about the context or environment he is in. Just a dude standing there. But as far as Verlinden kits go, this is one of the better bunch. Will be years before I paint mine...

You have managed to get some smooth colour transitions.

Only one comment/question: didn't you forget the eagle on his side cap?

I'm thinking I'll return to a basis of painting.
I'm practicing a technique of blending by oil paints in particular.
And it was considered so that I might apply and be separated perfectly.
The chroma could be done thick.
But I set it as the quiet chroma like "pastel" so that you might say.
I'm happy because you like it.

I don't also like VERLINDEN in particular.
However when figure of a white metal is sold, I can't buy it at this scale.
It would be something very expensive.
Unfortunately I think this ground work isn't the level which can be met.
When considering that I say a soldier of a navy, I couldn't find a good idea.

Earth in case of was that I adjust a foot of a figure, and a ground work could adjust the inclination of the figure.
However the ground was flat in this case, so it was a little unbalanced work.
This case feels a lot in old figure in case of of VERLINDEN.

I think it was too flashy about hair as you said.
I used light yellow of oil paints, but I should add white or gray and lose the chroma a little more.

Well, this figure was bought, but I couldn't make immediately.
It was for the first time that I make a soldier of a navy, so while considering ground work processing, time has passed.
It was "hard-luck" that this figure has been bought.
I think the figure is good, but I think I could use that if a base attached.

An eyebrow was picked with the brush with sharp hair ends after oil paints were applied thick.
When it's done this way, oil paints seem to develop like thread and be hair.
I'm a fan of Mr. Hardy who is a member of PF.
I observed his work and I thought it's done this way.
I'm not thinking Mr. Hardy is doing the same thing of course.
I knew his DVD to be published in the discussion, but I live in Japan.
So I don't know the way to buy it.
By all means I'd like to GET and I'd like to improve my skill.

For groundwork, it could something as simple as cobblestones, with a coil of rope, perhaps?

Mitsutaka very nice execution of this fine figure, i like your version and the painting is very smooth with great blending.

I also think the hair may be too Yellow and would benefit from a light brown wash maybe just to tone it down slightly, just a small point but otherwise exellent figure.
