I received these pieces with no reference at all. For the rank insignia it seems to be a waffen ss obersturmfuhrer in summer uniform, maybe Italy or Greece. Any reference of the figure or the subject?

    thank you Anders.

It actually appears in the Andrea´s catalog as a 54mm figure but the figure stands for almost 80mm as seen in the pics.

    thank you very much!

Homellop painted this version and he names it as Andrea, but it is listed as 54mm.
    So it's a mystery,
    Carl.

It is not the Andrea figure. Note the different pouch on left hip and note the position of the feet/boots (left foot is back, rather than forward as in Andrea version). Similar, but not the same figure.

Yes, that is correct. It is an old figure that was sculpted by Roger Saunders during the 1980s I believe. It is still quite a nice figure every bit up to current standards. Latorre's figure was a much later version done in 54mm. This figure was taken from a photograph that was eventually turned into an illustration by Malcolm McGregor:

LOL! I am an idiot. I didnt even look at the ruler for a size comparisson...duh!

John Rosengrant sculpted the same figure in 1/9th scale for Warriors as well.

    Popular picture to work from!

    wow, many thanx guys!

what do you think about the location/period?, Greece?, Italy maybe?

You can put it either to Greece or Italy but I think Italy is much better. In Greece it was a few SS units mostly chaising rebels and I don't think that it worth it. On the other hand in Italy took part a lot of first class SS units in many battles.
