Hi at all,

I did this small dio with the challenge of showing a just D Day landed 101st Screaming Eagle with his still opened parachute.
I used a light transparent paper and I have to try several times before I find the way to keep the typical round form.
I painted light green and the camouflage of 2 colours spots, then fixed all colours with several coats of transparent spray. The green lines are exactly 28, as was at the time of WW 2 Normandy operation
The soldier is done over a base of 1:32 multipose transformed figure and all Para uniform and the equipment details like: extra parachute, gas mask, antitank mine, gloves, B4 mae west, ammunitions bags etc. were created and sculpted with putty. For The helmet net I used a lady leg socks.
I painted the figure with acrylic

GREat work.
I think (but i'm not an expert) that the color of the chute is dark green or khaki.
But all in all extremely well done.

I'm no expert either Marc but I'm sure the parachute is correct and if I remember correctly the same material was used for helmet covers.

About the parachute Mr Aarsen of The War Memorial Museum write to me that at Normandy the colors used were light green with spots camouflage or white. I also seen that color in the Band of Brothers series
And to Matthew about the patch I will investigate that becouse I have seen figures with
that but this is not a good reason. Thanks anyway for the advise

The 82nd Airborne wore the flag patch on D-Day and both the 82nd and 101st wore it for Market Garden. That nit pick aside, your figure is truly fantastic and very dynamic

IIRC on their first combat jump(D-day) their weapons were contained in weapons bags, it wasnt until after they experienced not having access to their guns immediatley that they started jumping w/ them uncased

So id just suggest addin a weapons bag.

Still an amazing job!
