    Hi Everyone,

Here's some pics of my latest 1/10 bust. He's a Hessen-Darmstadt Grenadier and comes in six pieces.

    Hi Aaron,

Awesome sculpting mate. The detail on the head dress is particularly nice. Some of the pieces on your website are eqully impressive. Thanks for sharing these pics.

Thanks Tony, I normally do smaller scales so these larger pieces are a real treat.

    talk soon,

This is a superb sculpt, and a face that looks very much 'in period'.

There are two details though which might be not quite correct, you may wish to consult your sources again. First, the pouch and pouch flap should be MUCH larger, about 1.5 times larger than the ones shown. These were really huge. Second, the shoulder strap should not be ON the shoulder but Prussian-style further down towards the shoulder blade, set askew. There are better experts on the AWI than I am, so please let us know what you think.

Very nice! Who will produce it?

That's some really great work there! Great face and nice to see the drapery handled so sensitively. I'm not a fan of busts that run this deep (although I can see why you wanted to do it here) but lovely sculpting on the whole thing all the same.

    Great work Aaron!

The most of the grenadier busts are full with anatomical mistakes. This sculptur is excellent and fine detailed! I hope it will be commercial.

Thanks for sharing it and congratulations!

    Cheers,

    Hi everyone,

It will be produced by Michaels Miniatures - http://www.ultimateonestopshop.com/michaelminiatures/index.htm

This uniform is from 1750 I believe so prob the SYW(not 100% sure though). My patron supplied all the reference so I'm not an expert. He owns a military museum and actually has this mitre cap in his collection so I imagine he knows quite a lot about the uniform.

    thanks for all the comments,

    regards

The two points I made hold true for the earlier period - larger pouch and different position of shoulder strap. These are details very often not represented correctly in sculpts. I would find it a pity if an otherwise excellent sculpt were marred somewhat since these details are very characteristic for the period.

Aaron, very nice work here. I really like this piece! I added it to my "wish list" this morning from the Michael Miniatures site before I saw it here. Nice to see larger pictures and get a better idea of all the detail you've managed to achieve here. Well done!

I am very happy to hear this will be commericially available, though I would have prefered a grenadier from Hesse Cassel (easy conversion if it's resin) and overall, I give you high makrs, but have to agree with Andreas about the strap.
