I'm a big fan of Young's busts, but what's with the "mini me" on his back?

Calvin's done a superb job as usual on the box art painting, but I'm not quite sure about the GI Joe doll on his back. Can anyone explain what this is?

    .

I agree, excellent Bust, (I do wish it was a full body figure), but if I was doing this one, I'd find a way to leave that doll off.

    Cheers,
    Jeff.

It's a great bust for sure but a wish this bust was a full figure without the doll in the back.
He has a great face and the paint work is outstanding.

Excellent bust, like everything from Young's. I think the dolly must be an attempt at irony! (I could think of better things to carry around.)
    Like it anyway,
    Carl.

Clever design! I like the way where he "cuts" the bust off.
Not my era at all but I might consider one only because of the design and quality.

Isnt the doll supposed to be a Dragon 1/6 kind of doll?

Great sculpt and a noble attempt at an unusual addition on the back but its a little too creepy per Steven King to me. Don't you expect the doll to inhabited by one of his buddies or a Chuckie or something?

What a fantastic bust! I saw this one yesterday at Calvin Tan`s homepage, and was waiting to know the releasedate! I hope you bring enough of this one to Euro Militaire!

You have done it again, Young! :)

Like the doll or not, this is one well sculpted piece!!! I happen to dig the doll, it brings a bit of whimsy to the piece and adds an interesting perspective to a normaly ignored angle (the back of a piece). Well done Young!

    Thank you to all

Thank you so much for all your interest about my figure.
I made that bust from samll picture in my magazine.

That "doll" is 1/6 scale Special action figure for USMC of "Side Show".
Perhaps, he bought it at PX.

When I saw that picture in magazine, I can feel Warm-hearted from him.
I though that the action figure is his other self, symbol of luck or friend in gloomy battlefield.

I don't know about real story of him.
But I want to express my impression from him.

Lastly, Thank you so much to Calvin Tan about his great painting.

    Young

Not really my thing but still another great release from this fine company, Young delivers every time, the whole concept behind the layout of the sculpt is first rate, looking foward to seeing a few painted up on the forum in the coming months.
