    Sagum painted Just requires Some shade and highlights, I think I will have to strip the face. I think the contrast between tones is to stark, its not the best photo so its hard to tell.
    All criticism greatly received.

    Hard to say about the contrast.

    a few more pics under soft lighting would help.

    Camera flash does tend to wash out a lot of details and subtleties.

    For me it looks good.
    When the figure is smaller more contrast is needed. I should wait until you glue the whole figure together.
    A small wash with burnt umber will do to tone down the contrast then.

    Carl, first... I like the contrasting colors you used (typical Celtish).
    Now for some things I would do to tone them down a bit.
    Yes a wash would do it some good but it would benefit more if you first start to make more difference between the colors of the lines and the squares where they mix.
    Keep the red squares but make a darker (slightly brownish) red in the lines.
    Now (after drying ;)) do the wash.
    After this has dried you can use the bright yellow to color the crossing of the two yellow lines again.
