    Hello,
What are your individual thoughts as to which manufacturer produces the best WW I U.S. enlisted man infantry figure, the 'Doughboy'? Thanks in advance.

Hello Jay, I've only done this one by Metal Modeles so I'll let you judge for yourself.

Straight up an' down pose, 54mm white metal. Uniform seems accurate enough. I was happy with it. :)

I could be wrong but I don't think there is an awful lot of choice.

Depending on your scale of choice I would start by looking at Fusilier (75mm). Also JMD (54mm) is quickly becoming the darling of WW1. Not sure if they have a 'yank' yet but keep an eye on their line. If they don't it will only be a matter of time. Other top-notch releases are from Jon Smith Models and Michael Roberts Miniatures (2 marines). Both these companies release 120mm.

The Fusilier does a seated US Cavalryman, as Paul says in 75mm and white metal. I haven't seen this one but all the other Fusilier figures are very good.

    Hey guys,
I'm looking for a 54mm in full battle dress. Id like to do a fellow from the 5th Inf. Div. whose medals I have. Currently, I am reading Lengel's "To Conquer Hell" about the AEF in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. It is a fine read so far. That is a nice figure by the way, Roger. I agree that the JMD releases are suberb. Hopefully, they will do a 'Doughboy' soon. Has anyone done the 'Old NorthWest' Doughboy? I can't tell from the photos how good their resin figures are.
    Thanks guys,
    Jay

    Hi

I would recommend Scale Link for US WW1 54mm figures.

    Hi again,

Hit the wrong button...Michael Roberts makes a nice in action 120mm(?)Marine, which would easily convert to an Army Doughboy.

Old NorthWest makes nice figures, I have all 3, I'm working on the French one now, very nice weapons and equipment.

WW1 US are few and far between, would like to see JMD do one also.

    Good luck on you search.

    Regards

    Bill
