This here will be my first Predator Sculpt. It is done in 75mm, sculpted in Magic Sculpt. I have taken my own choice, not trying to duplicate a Film Version, but a Predator that could be possible in his universe.

All the small details will be done after the modelling work is done, using small gizmos from plastic, sheet and rod. Some more versions, with and without helmet will follow. Even some scenes with Aliens (after I have done Aliens in 120 and 54mm, why not scratching them in 75mm?)







He will be equiped with different weapons, two Backpacks and one shoulder cannon.

So, some Progress has been made by adding Equipment to the Belt and the left Legarmour.

I guess I'm jaded from the movies, but he looks too skinny for a Predator,May he could
be a youth? Good work though.

Outstanding Frank! This looks like a lot of fun! I see nothing wrong with a less chunky version of the Predator. In one of the movies we saw five or six of them - different sizes, heights, shapes, etc., when Danny Glover was in their spaceship under LA.

Funny - I really have no problem at all believing that there might be a Predator spaceship under LA. Nope. None at all. If you have difficulty visualizing that, maybe you've never been to LA, huh?

Dan, you are right! Seeing is beliving and Inspiration comes from a lot of Sources! I choose the skinny version with the Cleaner from AVP: Requiem in mind; for me, the bulky Preds from the ALIEN VS PREDATOR movie are a bit "unrealistic". With all that armour and Equipment, those bulky forms, I think, moving like they did was not soooo possible!

Well, that and the unwritten rule that no two creatures are ever the same and proportions vary greatly in all forms. Sculptors and artists tend to go for 'ideals ' in size ect so its good to break the mould from time to time.

Hehe, Tim, well, if I have 8 arms, my output would be even more... But the problem is the finishing touch; I have a bunch of projects in the making and can only hope to finish something in between before tackling new stuff! By the way, I remember some interesting sculptures done by you. Any progress?

yes there has been some progress; been sticking to anatomy study and experimental Armature designs(and no armature too), been avoiding making 'whole' figures for a few years now.
Also starting back on drawing as i reckon this is important too. That stuff i posted in '05 was ok if embarassing !
Must say, you HAVE improved mate. The Demon, Dinosaur and this are cool. bit small for me as, scale is something i have drifted around for some time. reckon i am comfortable with 120mm to 300mm cos i can see them! no more 30mm for me )
Got in to wax lately too thanks to the Clubhouse. reckon you'd like it too, especially for anatomical stuff and chavant too.
