    Greetings fellow Planeteers

My latest WIP, Andrea's beautiful French Imperial Grenadier Guard.

Painted in Vallejo acrylics, Humbrol metalics and Windsor & Newton oil on the rifle woodwork. Approx 80% done.

Apologies for the poor pics taken on my mobile. I'll take better pics when he's finished.

    Cheers
    Tony

Tony, I can't give you an honest critique, the pictures are not very clear.

I have this kit and my fingers itch everytime I look at the box.

Thanks for posting your current project. Looking forward to seeing your finished work.

Thanks for your comments. I've posted some new pics of the Grenadier which will hopefully enable you to make an honest critique of my progress.

Perhaps one day, when I've learnt how to photograph my figures properly I can put together a proper web gallery and I can show you and others how my figure painting technique has evolved (and hopefully improved) over the years.

In the meantime, I have made very tentative plans to take the wife and kids on a holiday to the UK in September next year. Hopefully the trip will coincide with EuroMilitaire, however I think my budget will only allow me to attend if I leave my wife and kids with the in-laws, and I go on my own.:D

Apart from the ability to see some of the world's finest figure models"in the flesh", I am particularly keen to meet and get to know my fellow Planeteers and share a few beers and tips on modelling with them in Folkestone.:)

Given the generally poor quality (and temperature) of English beers, perhaps we should bring our own beer from home Vergilius!!!

    (Only joking my Pommy friends):p

Excellent job. indeed. One piece of advice: the blue of this uniform should be darker. It is the "Bleu Imperial" originally called "Bleu Royal". It is a very dark blue, like Navy blue. (Bleu Marine)

I'll deepen the blue in his uniform before he's finished.

Thanks mate. I hope to be in Spain next year too, if only to meet so many of my pF friends and see their models in the flesh.

    G'day Tim

I've done a bit more on my Grenadier Guard over the weekend, but I've spent most of my time experimenting with my new digital camera, trying to take photos of my models in front of the TV screen to create realistic backgrounds to my figures.

Got a couple of nice shots of Aragorn with the LOTR movie in the background. Eventually I'll have to buy myself Photoshop and do it properly, but for now its a bit of fun, and a good excuse to spend all weekend watching was movies instead of mowing the lawn.

    Cheers
