I decided to put together a substantial 120mm project for the model show here in Austin, Texas late last year but when it rolled around this spring, surprise, it was still in the planning stages. It will depict a military police officer taking a picture of a statue of an Iraqi soldier while an older couple walks by and stares and some Iraqi kids play in the background.

Anyway, it's actually a true story, based on one of my experiences during OIF in 2003/2004. Right now, the diorama is coming along nicely, with three figures 50 to 90 percent sculpted and converted so far. The pics are of the head, still in-progress, with just the hair left to shade and highlight, painted in Vallejos after some minor resculpting of the hair ( I Dremeled it all off, minus the pieces in the front because I tended to go awhile between haircuts over there! ).

The other pic is the Verlinden 120mm Kevlar helmet, hollowed out to receive a detailed inside from lead foil, photo etch, and copper wiring, also a work in progress. ( Having a 1 and a half year old in the house doesn't allow much to get done at a good speed, hence many mentions of the phrase 'in-progress' in this post )

I'll keep you guys here posted as long as you like what you're seein'. Go easy though, this is my first post of my own stuff here on pF. Thanks guys, take care.

    Hi Stephen.
I like the work you've done on the face, indeed.
I guess it's not finished at all, you should paint a bit more highlighrs on the forehead.
The contrast is good and the facial features very well captured.
I hope to see more updates.
    Best regards

And Jaume, many, many thanks for the comments and the input. You rock, dude.

    Take care, guys.
