Here's my latest, and none too soon for the show next weekend. It's a Kentucky coal miner from the depression era.

    Thanks gang.

Glenn, the board has chits on it. The miners used these to tell who was and was not still in the mine. I made them by punching discs out of copper with the blunt end of a small drill bit. Then I punched a small hole using a needle tool. It's 1/35th scale. I used a Hornet head and hands from Historex.

Very fine finish to a great idea and well-sculpted figure! I don't want to hijack your thread but I'd like to share some other Depression era images that just fascinate me. These are from the Library of Congress collection of photos. What a wealth of subjects!!!

    All the best,
    Dan

    John,
I always find the unusual figures, from unusual objects most attraktiv. This one is no exception... Extremely well sculpted and painted. The setting makes it definetely off.
    Great work.

John, That's excellent. I really like looking at these subjects done outside of the norm, i.e. Military. Like Marijn, I think you're going to inspire miniaturists to explore these other possibilities.~Gary

Nice work, John! My wife's grandfather was a coal miner, and I've always intended to do a figure like that. Well done.

    Looks great!

This figure is awsome and I'll take as an examplar for my miner (you might have seen him here in the forum).
