Hey guys I'm in the process of doing a step by step on Poste Militaire's 90mm.
    mounted Samurai, Item # MS/2.

I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me with the research.
This being my first Samurai and the fact that I know very little about them, will be a real challenge.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers
    Roc. :)

    Hi all!

Hi Roc!And what a great choice!I am a fan on the subject so I've read a lot about them!
I could provide you pics of Samurais and any info, just ask me :).Please,go on on specific questions.

You're gonna start with the horse, right?Ok,paint the horse as you like(Japanese horses may be of any color, even with spots...)and the straps as well(they have to be silk shinny, they were usually Carmine red.)The cloth holded from the sadlle next to the belly of the horse can be tiger or leopard fur,or a richly decorated silken cloth. The sadlle is complecated, because it used to be often decorated(I'll have to email you pics for this one,but it's a great challenge for painting, trust me!)

Please feel free to email me for any questions or requests,I'll be glad to help!

I can't wait to check this one so please hurry!
    Good luck!
    -Kostas.

As this is a model of a specific samurai you will have to make sure you concentrate your research on Kato Kiyomasa. Quite a bit of his armour still remains so colours etc though faded with time will need to be correct. Altough some of the proportions are a bit out on the PM samurai they are well and crisply cast you you have a good canvas on which to work.
