Creating the Oak Tree

    A few weeks ago I posted about building an oak tree in 1/35 scale. After a few faltering attempts, I've been able to make a bit of progress.

    Here is a grand old oak tree near my home in Minnesota, which was my inspiration for this project...

    Shaping the trunk and main branches with medium gauge wire...

    Applying the household spackle (tetrion in UK), plus first coat

    Finished painting

    Next step is foliage/ and leaves.... Will post final in a few days.

    Nice looking tree!

    If you want to go the easy route buy a ready made tree then check out this site.

    They have trees in all scales, sizes and colors. They even have some tree kits that are pretty nice!
