Thank you Kenneth. The Ottoman Empire played a large role in the events of 14-18 yet there aren't any, that I'm aware of, commercially available figures of Turkish soldiers so I'm very pleased to add this to my collection.

Thanks Chris. Those eyes gave me so much trouble and I couldn't see the mistakes until I viewed the photo's I had taken, so the new camera has turned out to be a good tool in improving my painting, plus the advice given here on Pf of course.

hi Roger,
it is a great pleasure and honor for me to see your (you and Dan)efforts on sculpting and painting Ottoman and Turkish figures. Dan did a great job on this sculpt. face really looks like a Turk in this period, uniform details,enveriye and personal gear are great..especially the crescent and star on the belt buckle is a perfect touch. Your painting job is perfect as the sculpt. Very nice tones on the uniform and accessories.As Steve Parr noted face dark tone is very good for a sunburnt of the Turkish soldiers of this period but believe me we Turks are not very dark in general. :lol:
extra congrats for the realistic details on the trench like the can and ANZAC hat.
congrats to Both and please tell me if i can help in any way for your further Ottoman and Gallipoli projects.

I would also like to thank you for the information you provided to Dan in the research and sculpting phase of this project and I think I now have a fitting tribute to the Turkish soldiers of WW1 a subject sadly neglected.

Roger's painting is top notch! I particularly like that face! But the dusty, worn uniform looks perfect as well! Sweeet!

Roge - How do you read my mind and get the exact colors I'm thinking about? Are you going to be able to leave the wilds of Yorkshire and get this into a show somewhere in UK?

These were the colours I had in mind all along so that was a stroke of luck!
As for getting this into a show I'm afraid that possibility is pretty remote, the Darlington one has been and I'm not sure of others but if the oportunity arises certainly I will take it.
