George - Beautiful work! I think you did a grand job on the priest and the icon!! Could you tell us the scale, what materials you used, etc.? Do you intend this as a compliment to other work or is an end to itself? For example there are numerous examples of Russian priests carrying icons and blessing the troops in the RJ war, WWI, etc.

    All the best,
    Dan

The Figure is made of A&B mixed with Magic sculpt. The icon is plastic card painted with acrylics and enamel (Humbrol) colors. It is taken from an original painting )(Icon) that was called PANAGIA NIKOPIOS. The holy virgin that brings victory. It was carred by the Emperor during 12th and it was taken by the crusaders of the 4th crusade. Know the original icon is in St Markos Cathedral in Venice(ITALY).
Of cource the painted icon is not an accurate copy of the original. This not possible if you see the original.
The next spiritual subject like this will be something like "The Lady oF Blaxernes"(Greek-Roman-Byxantine) or "The Holy Mother of Smolensk"(Russia).
During WWII it is imposible to find any Priste blessing troops. Stalin and Comunist authoritise send every Orthodox prist or monk to Siberia since 30's.
    God Bless You

George - Yes, I did realize that Stalin sent the priests to Siberia...or worse. I was referring to World War I, the Russo-Japanese War, or the Russo-Turkish War and there are many published photos of priests blessing the Imperial Russian troops and/or their commanders from those wars. I just thought any of those might be an interesting small diorama for you.

    All the best,
    Dan
