This is Michael Roberts 120mm Dragoon in Egypt, painted with oils over acrylics.

    Hi Dave,

Nice job. I like your vest, it adds some color to the subject. I too did this figure some time ago and have always wondered where the coat tails went? Keep up the good work. I have enjoyed your various Rifle Regiment figures.

Thanks for the compliment Loren - I only worked out the coat-tails after I'd painted it and put it on the base - he's sitting on them!

    Dave,

I think this is the sharpest painting job I have seen you do (in my 3 short months on the planet, that is). Are you using a magnification device? Your detail looks great.

Dave I will have to agree with Kyle. This is a great piece of yours, and I see a lot of improvement. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for the compliments guys.
I'm pretty pleased with the way this one turned out. I have to thank the friends that I've made here and on Armorama that have helped with improving my painting. I do now use a magnifier, but it sometimes gets in the way so I only use it for detail and faces. I've also taken more care with lighting the photos and I think that that has also made a difference to the image that you're seeing.
The helmet wass painted with 'gold' acrylic from the Foundry range, and then coated with Tamiya smoke tint to make the dull brass colour.

Very nicely done!! The values on the face are spot on.

Thank you Bill, I was aiming for a 'suntanned european' colour so I had to change my usual mix - glad it worked out!

    Dave,

I have to agree with the others. The best so far. You are improving very fast.
Keep coming these nicely painted figures.
