Guy, thanks. I may have drifted away maybe a bit from an "instructional" sbs. I hope to correct that when the next trouser leg is sculpted.~Gary

Jason, Thanks. The other pocket flap will be buttoned. I may also have a small hole/tear on the knee of the other leg. I do not want to go overboard with the campaign look, but not under do it either.~Gary

Anders, Thanks a lot. The other trouser leg should be a bit more in depth.~Gary

Roy, Thanks my friend. I hope the pictures of the other trouser leg will be found to be a bit more informative. This is a very tedious process, which helps to explain why it's taking so long. ;) ~Gary

These trousers are turning out so nice Gary!

I'm working on a similar leg pose but with pants of an entirely different material/style (much thinner materials with tighter wrinkles) and mine look like garbage... I've been about ready to give up on them in fact. I'd benched them for now because if I have one more lousy sculpting session they might go out the window...

Your nice pants have inspired me to try again though. ;)

Francesca, Thank you. Don't give up! I'm assuming you are using putty for your project. A suggestion may be to try a "practice run" with Sculpey. That way you might be able to plan out the way you want the folds to look. Roll out a "snake" of sculpey roughle the thickness of the leg you are sculpting. After baking the posed leg(s) put a layer of fresh sculpey over this. With this method you are not playing beat the clock and you'll be without the pressure that putty can bring.~Gary

I've decided for the time being to move onto another project, but that's a good idea - I have all this Sculpey just lying around that I haven't done anything with in months. And the hard part of mixing it with the black FIMO is already done! Man, my hands hurt for two days after that...

Francesca, Sometimes it's best to put something on the backburner if it's not working out. When you're ready to get back to it, give the Sculpey a try.~Gary

I hope the photos showing the sculpting of the left leg with be more helpful, so I will try to at least show which tools I'm using to make the folds.

For some reason the "browse" option does not come up on this page as a means of submitting pictures. Has this feature been removed from this section? If so why?

    Hello Gary,

you're right! It has been some time since I posted anything! I should put something new in my workbench soon...

Francesca: don't give up! You can do it!
Maybe you just need a good example to study? For me, the best recipe for a lousy sculpting session is to start without any idea where the folds will be going... I agree though that those thin materials are the hardest!

    Best wishes,

    Marijn

Gary...that option didn't appear when I made this post either..no option to upload an image...just thought I'd try it out....I've only had it missing once before, ages ago...don't know why it happens though.

It appears on my screen so Gordy must have repaired the snafu.
