I like your feather Guy. How many Indians would you say that you have in your collection?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I appreciate it.

John - I have done well over a hundred in the 30 plus years I have been in this hobby. Most are in collectors cabinets as they have always been a seller for me. I have about 25 Indians still in my collection now. Some older ones and some new ones too.

Guy, I really like the color of the shirt. It looks like a tough one to get right without it looking like cloth.~Gary

    Thanks Gary,

I use the dry-brushing method with lightened semi-dry pigment drybrushed over the blended colors which will leave a slight texture to the shirt and simulate leathers.

That method would do. I think another aspect would be the sculpting. If the shirt was sculpted in a manner that had texture to make it look a little rough that would help to make an for easier job of getting the right effect.~Gary

It sure would Gary. The sculpting in of the texture does really help and the best sculpted I knew for this was Pat Bird, of the Former Series 77 company. I watched Pat sculpt in texture once while I was visiting them. Makes a big difference when you paint it.

Guy, a nice looking bust for sure! ;) One thing, and I'm not the smartest person on these "Indian Matters" ( ), the left eye doesn't seem to match the right. Maybe this was intentionally done.....I don't know. Just something I noticed. Nice job with the flesh, the bead work, the buck skin, the feathers.......heck! the WHOLE darn thing. Nice job! I really like it. Between you and Quang, you guys are gonna get me painting Indians. Might as well add Bob Knee to the mix now with his recent article in HM.
