Ok here is an update, I started to paint the armour and ringmail, using Printers Ink for the armour and Vallejo for the ringmail.

You're off to a nice start, I think. I just picked up a couple of Pegaso figures to hopefully get me out of this hole I'm in right now (I've been staring at my field grey germans too long and gotten a bit bored :( ).

But I'm not sure how to tackle the armor. It seems that printer's ink is fairly popular with those who do medrom stuff. How do you go about painting it? Highlight and shade like you would with regular acrylics? And where can you get it in Sweden?

    Andreas,

I like the figure myself. You're start is promissing, but for the chainmail and armour you must more highlighting and shading.
What i see on the picture's (that's it; pictures) that the chainmail is covered to much with paint. It seems a blob of paint. Maybe it is not well casted and therefore not outstanding, but i think you must to try to define the chainmail better by highlighting and shadowing.

Hi, and thanx for the comments!

Fredrik, I got my Printers ink at Euro Militaire, I paint with it like I do with Humbrol, and dilute it with Humbrol thinner, the shadows and highlights ( which are not yet added in these photos ) are done like normal, but with more contrast, you have to remember that metal is a reflective material and doesnt absorb the environment like fabric, so the darks get darker etc...

Marc, you are absolutely right, in these photos I have just put the basecoat for the armour, but I will take some fresher photos soon to put here for you to see :)

    Best Regards.

    Even more Swedes! :D

As I said at your other thread - it looks great!

Can´t wait to see it finished! BTW is it painted in Acrylic or in oil?

    Best wishes
