CSA Artillery

The last project I'm working on at the moment.

CSA Artillery officer with a captured Union gun.

I plan to use a bunch of Union equipment and ammunition laying around the gun. Would also include a Union kepi, or even a Union artillery shell jacket laying on the ground to give the gun its identity.

My grateful thanks go to Loren Johnson (johnsonva), who supplied me with a lot of information for the gun: pictures, drawing scans, etc.
Loren gave me also a suggested title for the display "The Spoils of War".

    All comments and critics welcome.
Suggestions for the groundwork and disposal too.

    Best regards

    Bertrand

Verlinden gun needs a lot of extra-detailing and errors to correct !! It's not over yet...

Bertrand, Very nice to see you make the effort to "correct" the kit. A forage cap on the ground would look good. I would put artillery equipments on the ground or leaning against the gun. I would not fill your scene with too many pieces of equipment as it may make your scene too cluttered.~Gary

    Bert,

Nice work on the gun. We have some 12 lb case/solid shot from our CW1 kit that would look good on the ground as well as kepi's, canteens etc. Email me and tell me what you are looking for. USMCMKS@aol.com I also have all the parts from our artillery kits that may be of help to you in detailing your kit.

    Hello Mike,

I will contact you when I come back home after some vacation ... Kepis, canteens, forage caps, some 12 lb case/solid shots from your product line will certainly fit. Just have to make my mind more clearly on how to display them.

Stephen: The gun is 120mm from Verlinden. Mys sources are mainly from a pF member who provided me with a lot of information, pictures, drawings, measurements from an actual gun. Very helpful.

    Regards
