There are a few exciting new events added to the slate for World Expo 2005 in Boston...

NEW SEMINAR! HISTORY IN MINIATURE by George Stuart
Saturday, July 2nd at 3:00 pm

The Expo is very pleased to announce the addition of a new seminar by world-renowned historical artist George Stuart. Mr. Stuart’s stunning dressed, historical figures combine stunning likenesses of historical figures, with remarkable scale metalwork, leather and cloth – all hand made by Mr. Stuart. Several of his miniatures are in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, and Mr. Stuart’s work has been featured in Campaigns magazine and on the Discovery Channel. He is also Curator Emeritus and guest lecturer at the Ventura County Historical Museum. In addition to Mr. Stuart’s seminar, his company will also have a booth at the Expo, and will have for sale copies of his fascinating videos, as well as the new book on his work. This is the first time Mr. Stuart’s work has been exhibited at an historical miniature exhibition, and seeing it in person will be a treat for everyone attending World Expo 2005!

NEW SEMINAR! MODELING FOR THE MOVIES by John Rosengrant
Friday, July 1st at 5:00 pm

John Rosengrant is known to many of us as a superb military modeler and sculptor, but fewer people know that for the past 20 years he has been a special effects supervisor at Stan Winston Studios, one of Hollywood's most famous special effects shops. He played a major role in developing the dinosaurs for Jurassic Park, and served on the design team for films The Terminator, Aliens, Batman Returns, Predator, and Pearl Harbor, among others. John will talk about both his military and movie models, showing
how techniques developed for one have carried over to the other. This is a rare chance to go behind the scenes of some of the most famous movies of the past 20 years, and to learn from a master modeler working in that field.

NEW TOUR! HARBOR CRUISE - July 4th Fireworks Celebration
Monday, July 4th at 8:00 pm

We are delighted to offer this tour to the Expo. What better way to enjoy the famous Boston Pops July 4th fireworks than from the privacy of our own chartered tour boat? The tour will begin at Rowes Wharf (Behind the Boston Harbor Hotel) at 8:00pm July 4th. It will be a three hour harbor tour, culminating in an excellent view of the fireworks display from the best location within the harbor. While on the tour boat, prepare to see many of the famous Boston sights, sit back and enjoy a drink, and spend a relaxing evening away from the crowds. Seating is very limited (only 130 tickets will be available), and we urge all interested attendees of this tour to book as soon as possible. We have also secured a discounted price of $25.00 per person. Visit the cruise lines website at www.massbaylines.com.

Tickets for the George Stuart and John Rosengrant seminars, and the Harbor Cruise may now be purchased online at www.boston2005.com

David Lane will be unable to attend the Expo, so his seminar has been replaced with the newly added George Stuart seminar. Those who have purchased tickets for David’s seminar can either roll them over to another seminar or obtain a refund by contacting us through the website www.boston2005.com.

Junior Admission Note: Children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge to the exhibition, all seminars and the awards reception.

John Jefferies will be manning an Advance Registration Booth at the MFCA Show in Valley Forge, PA, May 6-7.

Hotel booking continues to proceed at a very fast rate, with over 1,700 room nights now booked at the Park Plaza. If you haven’t yet booked your room, you can reserve it online at www.boston2005.com.

Don’t forget to pre-register prior to June 1st! Save money and time getting into the show by booking early!

The link for the boat tour on the site will be up in a few days. At that time, you will be able to reserve a seat, as well as the 2 new seminars that we mention in the latest newletter.

Shep updated the site last night, and the cruise, as well as the two new seminars are now available for on-line reservations.

The level of interest for the July 4th cruise is very high, and tickets are already selling at a brisk pace. If you want to get on this party boat, don't wait! Only 125 seats are available, and there is no chance of getting another boat - they are all booked!
