Finished Viking

    Thanks guys for the kind words!

    The figure is almost exclusively painted in Humbrols; the dirt effect on the shield is done with oils
    the standard is taken from an Angus McBride colour-plate showing King Arthur, but as far as I know the standards were also used in later times and are in fact shown on the Bayeux tapestry.
    Snow is a mixture of backing powder and natriumhydrogencarbonat (sorry about that ;) ) in German it's called "natron". The whole is fixed with hair spray. The ice effects are done with tiny drops of dried white glue.

    A fantastic piece of work. I really like the combination with the typical banner. It gives the figure a more convincing look than with the original sword.

    it's a pleasure for me that you like it. The tip of the standard is from an old Historex standard, slightly modified.
