Hey guys,

I was asked to post how I paint white. I have wanted to do another Napoleonic so I am going to try my hand at a Dutch Grenadier. It will be a slight change of a Metal Model kit. I am not the best at this photoshop and etc but here is what I have so far.

That's great Joe. I have been using your white mix from your continental marine for a teutonic grand master. The deck tan is a great part of that mix.

Just a basic question for you as well.

What are your dilution ratios for the base, highs and shades?

I really do not have any ratio's. I use the tip of my brush and then just mix it on the palette. I keep the mixtures thin but not so thin that they are barely visible. I also agree about the deck tan, it is one of my favorites.

Looks great so far!

Some initial pics of mine are on my Vbench. I've made some progress since, but the coat and facings are giving me grief.

I have base coated the facings in a magenta color. Any suggestions on what you're going to use for the Guard facings?

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. I noticed your figure has either a very thin primer coat on it or none at all. How do you do this? I have had some disastours results from not putting a primer coat on my figures.

I use a very thin primer coat of Humbrol #1. I brush it on and have had pretty good results so far.

I will take a look. I am still trying to figure out the Crimson. Jim has been helping me and I hope to try to get some paint on it soon and you can let me know what you think.
