I haven't posted for ages, due to relocation to Hamburg. This pair (only one shown today) was started, after a relatively clean up free build, yesterday. I have completed most of the painting, minus some blending of the uniform. The fleshtones still need adding, as does the left hand, which will be replaced due to me breaking the ppsh gun off. There are holes/sockets for most of the personal kit which will be added before placement in a vignette. Quality wise, the figures easily stand up to Hornet/Wolf and Alpine Miniatures. The resin is soft enough to tidy up with a #11 blade. Any comments will be appreciated, as this is my first non camo figure.

He is looking good Martin. As you say, the flesh needs a little highlighting as the hands will too. You are on the right track and this should turn out to be a fabulous figure. I look forward to your next progress shot.

Cheers Guy, I found it difficult to paint the khaki areas, compared to my usual SS camos. I got bored and decided to build an outhouse for the dio the figures will be included in.

It is intentionaly rough, and will probably be given a basic whitewash.

    Hi Martin,

Very good painting, I especially like the way you let the light fall on certain parts. This givesa lot of life to the figure. I'm looking forward seeing more of it.

Nice looking Russian figure. Cool how you used a soda cap as a base to paint on.
I save a whole ton of gatorade ones (bottle caps)......bigger and easier to rotate when painting.

Keep up the good work !

    Cheers !!

Thanks to all for the encouraging replies. Here are two more shots of the pair together, with most highlights and shadows done. There is still some blending to be completed, and the bareheaded figure needs his boots highlighting. No skintones have been started yet, nor has any weathering.

    I like the outhouse.
    Is there a visit planned?

There will be a German guy taking aim from inside the outhouse. But I do have plans for another similar building in a vignette, so keep your eyes peeled. ;)
