    hi everyone -i intend painting the david grieve figure of the sergeant of berkshire regiment -maiwand, any hints and tips would be welcome -even some pictures of completed figures for inspiration. thank you.

    yes thats great--thank you. i am also trying to get a united miniatures model bust of scottish king -james the first, if you can find one i would be grateful. struggle with laptops.

    Badger - I have ordered from UEM before and it wasnt a problem. Mind you, that was November 2021. Think Mike Cramer [owner] may be here on PF ?

    Here's a pic of mine that I did years ago in oils. Notice I changed out the head and added a moustache. It was a Verlinden resin spare head that I picked up, only don't remember where!o_O

    its very good,i thought verlinden only did 120mm scale heads--is yours 120mm ? but great photo,gives ideas.

    Always liked that Grieve figure from that range. As subjects most of the others are a bit too "ceremonial" looking for my taste, although it has to be said that the quality of the sculpting and casting is second to none in metal. They really are things of beauty.
