Cool and beautifully sculpted. Will have.
May I recommend more tank crew of different poses, as this is very similar to the figure that comes in the AHHQ Sherman, though I realize its not specifically for that kit. One other point, and it may be too late to change, but I doubt the armor guys had netting on their helmets. I have never seen it, and it would be a snag hazard on the tank and really not useful as they would be wearing it while riding on a very visible armored vehicle.

    Great! Looking forward to that.
My favourite is the version with the tanker headgear.

An excellent release, I was wondering when Alpine would be doing something new in 1/16 as it's been a while.

The tanker headgear is the only option really, but the alternative head is very handy for the spares box.

    I'm in.

So so awesome!!!! I love both heads and would have a hard time choosing one over the other. The netting on helmet is perfect.

Good point, but infantry helmet(s) maybe carried as external stowage and worn occasionally when dismounted for whatever reason? From what I understand those tanker helmets would cushion the blow if you banged your head inside the tank, but weren't much good for anything else.

I’ve never seen photos of tankers in "G.I." helmets either but it's certainly conceivable IMHO. For me though the tanker headgear just looks more “the part” and the obvious choice if you’re doing a tanker!

I have seen a number of pics with the tank guys wearing the steel pot, but never one covered in netting. Sure its possible but I am of the strong belief that unless you are doing a particular figure with specific/unique/out of the ordinary characteristic you want to portray, then go with the usual or normal. If 99.9 percent of tank crews wore the helmet without netting , go with that. No biggie either way, I was just pointing it out as a possibility that it could be changed prior to release, if desired. As you said, the tanker headgear is the way to go, and I have a few spare steel pots in the stash besides. Heres a great link to info on the 1938 tankers helmet, very handy:

"Tankers" also occasionally used the steel helmet bowl as a potty. I imagine the netting would be an inconvenience in that situation.

    Thanks for the comments, guys!

I decided to give the second head a helmet with a netting
so that the figure can be used as a non- tanker and to go with
other 1/16 kits , such as a Jeep or a halftrack...

Also, the figure included in AHHQ M4 is wearing a winter
combat trousers where as this Alpine figure is wearing a
M43 HBT tanker coverall. Different boots as well. ;)

Lovely figure and agree with the good choice of giving us a spare head for other figures we have in the stash. A gun slung over is shoulder is very tempting for some reason
