    Hello Folks

This 1/6th resin kit is now available as a full figure or bust version direct from www.rdgminiatures.com
Tommi Worton has designed a presentation base for the full 300mm version. These are very big kits and available in limited numbers.

75mm, 120mm & 200mm versions are also available from www.mitchesmilitarymodels.co.uk along with the private soldier version.

MMM are also planning to release a 1/9th option for the drummer bust.

    Cheers
    Gordon

Stunning piece, does the drum base come with the 120mm and 200mm versions, I think is a lovely touch.

Only with the big one Terry. Tommi Worton produced it for the 300mm version.

Thanks Gordon, I sort of thought that as the smaller versions would more than likely be presented on the usual ground work conjured up in the minds of the individual painter for a realistic setting, however well done to Tommi for thinking outside the box.

I saw this at Telford last weekend and along with their magnificent and reworked 1/6 Eagle Bearer 4th Hussars bust (which I bought), these are amazing creations and incredible value for what they are. I can only imagine the cost were they produced by some other companies within the hobby.

I say - "Get them now!" whilst still available and fresh moulds or be forlornly posting here on PF trying to find one ' X 'months or years hence!

I'd love to paint the 300mm figure, with the drum vertical (?), but £140 is understandable but steep. Of course a 300mm figure uses 3.75 times as much rubber to make a mould and resin to mould the figure as a 200mm one.............

    Hi Mike,
There is also the additional cost of printing, resin, consumables, mould boxes....which have all gone up in price, plus the additional wasteage, disposal and utilities cost, again which have all gone up, especially utilities. The potential sales is niche and the margins are even tighter.
Plus the larger the moulds the quicker they will wear and rubber has vastly gone up too. One reason I would never do this.
This is not a pop at you Mike in anyway and you have more of understanding of the costs, but people just don't know what producing a figure entails.

I also know that we are in difficult economic times for everyone and believe me producers are trying to hold the prices.
    cheers
    Richie

    Hi Grod,
Some of the large scale figures and busts you have done are superb and this is no exception. Great value too based on the above from one who knows the costs, but add in the sculpting cost too!. Then good on you, you have always pushed the limits to provide the modelling community will something special at a great price.

Please make the cheque payable to The Monkey Hanging xxxxxxx :ROFLMAO:

    cheers

Keith at Victory keeps me informed of his overheads and the price of everything, especially oil based products, has gone up considerably.

I'm not surprised. I've done a couple of large figures recently and the amount of rubber and resin used is considerable. I think people forget that as dimensions increase linearly, the area increases as the square of the linear measurements and the volume by the cube.

To be honest, I think that most contributors on this forum, understand and accept the true cost of creating figures, and any mention of cost, is not a criticism of the artist/producer. It is more of a lament, that it prevents us from buying more figures...

I think that's one reason why the opposition and condemnation of recasting is so strong here.

I just wonder why you chose to pose him not playing his drum.

I quite like the pose I chose. Had I selected a pose playing the drum no doubt others would have preferred a different pose.
