    I have been working away on this one over the last couple of weeks, face painted in oils;

    Hands and receiver also painted in oils, need to add some grime to his hands. Clothing has been base coated via airbrush with Tamiya acrylics, shadows and highlights;

    Helmet was scratched via the 'hairspray method' then various oil filters with a final raw umber filter

    Got the oils out last night and spent an enjoyable couple of hours getting his rain cape painted and blended;

    Hi Steve

    Good result on the cape , will you put it in a heat source or let it dry naturally ?

    Interesting you've still to do the badges etc on the arms .....I would have got them out the way first ! ......I presume the arms were separate ?

    Coming along nicely

    Looking forward to seeing more

    Happy benchtime

    It may go in the crockpot today, to speed things up, ready to get dirtied up. Arms are separate items.

    Oils dried nice over night and a final fix in the crockpot. So dirt added via thinned out mix of raw sienna and yellow ochre added in various shades and finally a custom pigment mix of yellow ochre and iron. The rain coat was made of a rubberised material so would have had a slight sheen to it, so will probably leave the finish as is at this stage.

    Hi Steve

    That capes come out good , like the idea to leave to simulate the rubberised surfaces

    Thanks for updates

    Looks great! I like the details you have added to the helmet and rain cape. Definitely get the sense of someone from the trenches

    Couple of bits off to be baked, on the left the gas mask and hose and on the right a couple of pouches for the ‘Christmas truce’ bust.
