Just a small update on the German base. I've been adding wash, stipple and dry-brushing. It's not finished yet.

I don't have any good lighting this evening. This is the progress made today.

Lovely shades and tones and texture.

I’m still cleaning up! I feel more confident with base work so thought I’d get som practice in on that before starting on figures.

Having separated my German base from this thread, I am working on my Christmas Truce base again. I've still been avoiding painting the figures! I just have a base colour and a quick dark wash on top of that so far.

I've been playing with my truce model base. I added some grass using carpet underlay. I then greened up some of my grass with wash and then started adding barbed wire. I used Eduard etch and still have plenty on my 8m sheet. I go along the barbs twisting them with two pairs of tweezers so that they don't look so flat. I also twist the whole length. It's boring but makes an important difference. I lastly added Vallejo game wash - first umber and then flesh, which is a red/brown - for rust. I will next
add a little snow onto all of this. It's getting there!
