At last I’ve completed mine & Andy’s tribute to NZ Māori Contingent. This unit landed on Gallipoli in early July 1915 & this small scene depicts them getting sorted into their new home near the frontline.

All 1:32 with base figures from Tommy’s War, with Hornet heads.
Andy crafted hut and most of supplies in centre.
.303 Ammo boxes are Scale Link.

Full detail on hut & vignette painting shared here:

And features as an SBS build project in my book.

And as always, when looking at your figures, I see the paintwork, check the scale - 1:32 -, next enlarge the images, check the scale again - 1:32 -, then do a little measuring & calculating & thinking ("...they're 24 cms in the enlargements, which means they are shown here almost 4 times the original size..."), and then either go gently sobbing over my figures or re-watch the Autumn Internationals 2021

As I’ve said elsewhere. I saw these figures and was instantly in awe of Mike’s skill. Then I found myself making bases for his models and thinking how did that happen? I’m so proud to be able to make backdrops for some of Mike’s art.

Super work Mike/Andy. Love the detail and textures in the painting and the base provides a great backdrop to the scene.

Appreciate comments Winfield, Bob, Ski & Steve.
Nice knowing this comes across OK.
Just submitted couple of photos of finished project for my book.
Hoping they will appear there to complete this story.
    Neal, thanks!
Detail & appropriate textures help convey the story for me.
I’m always aiming for every item to add to the narrative rather that distract from it.

Very nicely done. Although the slouch hat is associated with the ANZACs, slouch hats, pith helmets and service caps were to be found amongst all Commonwealth troops at Gallipoli.

Cheers Victor makes all the difference getting endorsements like this because you never quite know when locked up on your own downunder :)

    Thanks & yes Mike.
I always had vision of showing all with different headgear to help show variety plus share variation visible on peninsula by Allied troops. More are coming…
