What a great figure of a rarely covered area. Fantastic piece and 90mm is great.

When you have time please tell us more about availability and some references for painting. I wouldn't know where to start on this.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your comments, guys.
Right now, the first butch (about 20 figures) is available directly from Andrei Bleskin. You can write to him at bleskin-rambat@yandex.ru
In a couple of months, you would be able to purchase it on our website www.castleminiatures.com

As I already wrote, this figure depicts a Red Army cavalryman between 1919 and 1921.

I will post pictures of his uniforms, equipment and weapons a bit later.

Her is another photo with a different head.

Probably I should make something in the future with legs, and this Towarisch inspires me...

    Here is some more references.

Broadcloth helmet: Budenovka (named after Red Army cavalry commander Semyon Budyonny)

Most of the time, it was made out of wool.

But sometime leather was used as well.

The color of a big star made out of a piece of fabric referred to a specific army branch.

Blue for cavalry, black for artillery, green for border guards, etc.

Red army wore the same greatcoat that the Imperial army before it.

3 flaps and two tabs indicated the army branch and were of the same color as the star on the helmet.

Oh, yes. It was another much smaller metal pin, a red star, on the helmet.

The first type of this pin (1918-1921)

From April 13, 1922, it became a bit different.

And the final design was introduced on July 11, 1922.
