While I have purchased many Jeff Shiu figures in the past, I would like to see more of his excellent sculpting on American, British and Russian figures.

Uber meals delivery 1943... Love the peice, highly original and very well executed, I expect I'll be picking this one up, too.

Is he wearing an SS anorak?

It doesn't look like a camouflage scheme, so that would make it the standard Feldgrau/Weiss reversible parka as issued to the Wehrmacht.

It's an interesting and original subject (notwithstanding that it's another WW2 German). I had no idea that this was even a thing.

I can't really say what the soldier in the wartime photo is wearing, but the miniature is depicted in the 1st model of the "Charkow" parka of the Waffen-SS, which was fieldgrey.

Good point, I thought the question related to the parka in the photo.
My knowledge of SS winter clothing is limited, I thought the SS used Feldgrau Wehrmacht parkas until they were issued their own (camouflaged) versions. Everyday is a school day

At home, having a proper look at the pictures now (not on my phone.. ), and my initial impression was that the inside of the hood was white, hence my thought that it was a reversible parka.. it is obvious that the inside of the hood is fur lined, and it is most likely an M43 parka, although as Karl above points out, it's difficult to determine for sure from the photo.

I've had a look at your site, but could not find this figure, not all pages were loading. Is there a link to where it can be purchased? I'm not much into WWII Germans, but this is a very different and interesting subject..

Looking at the original photograph, the sail is Heer zeltbahn to my eye, so maybe a reversible Feldgrau/Weiss? Given the figure depicts a Waffen SS parka, anything goes as for camoflauge?
  17. PanzerIV Member

I agree Newtonk, it is a Heer Zeltbahn. The soldier however is wearing a fur lined SS anorak which was only available in two colours in the pullover version. Mustard and field grey.
