The sculpt is an inspired idea, and one that seems to have awoken a
few sleeping tearaways. My own abiding memory of Brighton in those
times is of retreating bravely in the face of marauding Rockers intent on
seeing the colour of my insides. And as a student protester, the same
thing happening again a few years later in Grosvenor Square..only that
time it was a line of Mounted Police. It has always been a mystery how
we ever emerged into staid and respectable wage earners

Mike, an interesting point - although I am of a certain age, I still feel more than capable of doing some really stupid stuff....!!:sneaky:

Hi Guys - Retro fitted Bonneville with drum brakes, rear frame modified, chain swapped sides, front mudguard stays removed to be replaced with more in scale versions, chrome plating stripped. Now need to prime, then refit rear wheel. Rear carrier added on Lammy, then on to front crash bars, with lights and mirrors - but not going for overkill!!!(y)

Some more progress on the Lammy - Lights, mirrors, backrest, crashbars, spare wheel in cover and rear carrier completed. Awaiting primer, then paint, but first, onto finishing the sculpting of the rider... The Bonnie is almost retro fitted, again, awaiting addition of cables, gear change, rear brake..... then onto the rider - Im quite enjoying this!!(y)

Cheers, Steve - took a bit of fathoming out how to make them and attach to the stalks. They were cut from plastic card, edged with strip, then attached by drilling out plastic tube, then slipping over the stalks and fixing with a drop of CA!!(y)

    Hi Guys,

Pretty much completed the Bonnie. Added cabling, gear change, footrests, kick start, rubber gaiters on front forks, swapped chain over, added chain guard, rear light and number plate and front and rear brake linkages. I should like to say that my interest in anything two wheeled stops with Italian scooters and racing cycles....!! I know it's not perfect, but it's good enough for what I want!!

Back in the day (mid 70s) I always fancied myself on a Bonny or a Commando, but ended up with a Honda instead before being tempted by a beaten up old MGB Roadster!
