    Hi,

I'm presenting you my first 3D sculpt with ZBrush Mini, which is the free version of the software with limited tools (no masks, measurement etc.), I had to rely on my perception of the anatomy and proportions (I made already two horses from clay).
About two evenings of work to get used to the brushes.
I didn't sculpt the mane intentionally and I have to learn how to pose the sculpt in the future.
The files can be exported for 3D printing, which is nice feature :)

I hope you like it :)

    Thanks!

ZBrush Mini has limited tools, compared to the full version, but usually you need only 3-4 of the brushes to make a sculpt. And the interface is more user friendly ;)

You can try Blender also, it is keeping up with every update and is free :)

I made the pose of the legs with Blender and some refining:

Trully excellent work.Hard to imagine this is only your first try, you've already achieved a great level of detail, anatomy, pose etc.Did you sculpt a generic horse or did you use some established Bulgarian horsebreed as reference?

    Thank you!

It is a generic horse, for a first sculpt, I looked at pictures mainly, but yes-I also used a Bulgarian horses for reference.

This is East Bulgarian, which is composed of local, anglo-arab, and mainly english breeds (like Thoroughbred), for the needs of bulgarian cavalry in the early XX century. In the eighties, for better sporting performance, modern Hanoverian, Holstein breeds etc. were also introduced. It is around 16 hands tall.
