    A brief historical introduction
In September 1921, during the Second Moroccan War (or Rif War, 1911-1927), the defensive blockhouse of Dar Hamed, located on the slope of Mount Gurugú - near Melilla - was severely attacked by the Riffians. This made the position very weakened and the lieutenant in command of the Tercio forces in El Atalayón requested to go to reinforce him, to which the command refused for tactical reasons. He then asked for volunteers and many volunteered even though there was very little chance of getting away with it. Among them he chose fourteen legionaries under the command of Corporal Suceso Terreros to come to the aid of his comrades in that blockhouse which, given its circumstances, was known as "El Malo"(The Bad). Sheltered for the night, the platoon managed to get there, which raised the morale of the besieged. From the first moment they were involved in arduous combat, making good use of rifles and hand grenades. But the enemies managed to place a cannon in the vicinity and then the situation became dramatic for the defenders of the Tercio. Finally the Harkeños managed to break through and penetrate through the parapets, and although the legionaries fought bravely until the last moment, even making use of their bayonets, finally they all perished. Since then, that action would be known as "El Blocao de la Muerte" and would be one of the main heroic events in the legionary tradition.

Awesome! What a magnificent vignette. So full of character and drama that you can sense the plight and resolve of the legionnaires at the same time. I look forward to seeing it painted with the OSL effect to emulate the painting.
    Congratulations to Beneito.

    Hi Jose,
Top draw, having watched this develop from the intial posing to the finished article has been a real pleasure mate.
I covet that figure of the trooper tying off the bandage with his teeth, I could see that figure pose fitting into any
    vignette or diorama. Love it.
    cheers
