Completed Australian Lighthorse bust, Dolman Miniatures 1/10th scale

    Hi guys

    Been a long time since I’ve posted anything. Suffered a prolonged loss of mojo, but once I saw this little beauty I broke my drought.

    The bust looks like Mel Gibson from the movie Gallipoli. The black over yellow unit colour patches denote 10th Lighthorse Regiment from my home state of Western Australia.

    Painted in josonja acrylics, I plan to add an oil paint wash over the leather ammunition belt and pouches.

    Been too long time & neat to see you back with this little beaut Tony. Especially like palette on flesh & uniform. Nice touch doing 10th too. Got this one inbound myself so will be using yours as inspiration for sure.

    Oil washes, metallic colours and glass effects in the goggles added.

    Calling this one done. It’s not my best by any means, but I good project to break my drought.

    Good to be back and with my mojo in tact.

    Tony so neat to see you lured back by this fellow.
    I like a lot of your version - something subtle about the look & his expression looks spot on. Eyes seem to make real difference here.
    Dolman did a cracker job & I’m hoping my one will turn up this week to look at in flesh. It’ll probably be my first 3D project so gonna be interesting.

    Why not enter a piece into the class of your choice in our FOTM comp and also vote in previous months classes as well as voting in Vignette & Diorama comp #2 ...

    ....And enter in Vignettes & Diorama #3 which will be set up for 1/5/21 running till 31/01/22
