Another one to add to my "hit list". I was wondering if this ACW range was going to be added to - now I have the answer.

The first figure with the kepi is very nice, apart from his "Pinocchio" nose, but that's an easy enough fix.

Something odd about one handing that weapon..wouldn’t the natural way and faster/more accurate be with butt on ground?

True - but this pose was inspired by following picture:
    49th Georgia Rallied by Jordan - Fredericksburg.jpg

Quite uncommon - but interesting and dramatic for battle action

Indeed it is..I am thinking the artist took some liberty with the truth..with Pike and shot period we can be less certain of exactness, but closer to our time, the more these little bits of detail pop out..

Looking closely at the painting, the pose is near impossible - the guy is looking ahead, yet ramrod still at angle to barrel: he would have been feeling for the right spot..anyway, the sculp is noce;y animated and crisp as always, and the subject will be popular for you

Good point about how he's holding the rifle, however if you're extending the groundwork just have the butt resting on a fence / rock / raised ground and it becomes a non-issue.
