I really like Akira Kurosawa's movie Shichinin no samurai.I have long wanted to make a miniature of one of the characters (or maybe several).And so I decided.I want to achieve a portrait likeness to the character and, as always, make weapons and equipment historically accurate.I will need your help to do this.If you see any inconsistencies, please let us know.

Hello everyone!
I keep making Gorobei.In some shots of the film, you can see that he is wearing armor under his jacket.I think it's kharaate-do.These cuirasses do not have kusazuri, so they can be hidden under clothing.Kharaate-do used ashigara, but I found information that sometimes noble samurai also used such cuirasses in the same way as Gorobei, hiding it under their outer clothing

Hello everyone.
I finished sculpting Gorobey.Equipment, in addition to the cuirass, includes another kote.I could not find real samples of such a kote for a long time.But still, I found similar kote in Sasama's book, which Felix posted in the information section.This kote is called yonhon-shino-gote.This kote is not common for the end of the 16th century, when the events of the film take place.The method of fastening it corresponds to the earlier kote, used in the 14th-15th century.Gorobei is armed with a single daito (katana) sword with a heavy blade having a slight bend, characteristic of the late 16th century
