Had this one a while and finally made a start. Its a real beauty of a bust with a natural pose. Im not sure what Im doing with the head. I now have a spare of Mitches Falkland Royal Marines heads (the body is being use to make a Gurkha bust) or I may use the original head though I have extensively re-sculpted it. Anyway here are the steps so far: WP_20210314_10_12_09_Pro.jpg

here it is with the base, the greens and the browns. Just the blacks to add then a once over with washes to harmonize everything. WP_20210314_14_09_09_Pro.jpg

Ill probably go with the RM head and have it as a member of the M&AW cadre (as Ive been watching Behind the Lines again on the BBC iplayer).

Done the black bits on the camo. Not really happy with it yet. Maybe when the webbing is painted in it will look better but at the mo. the DPM doesnt feel right. WP_20210316_12_11_44_Pro (2).jpg

    Hi there

Thanks for the camo update , think if you highlight and lighten colours to give a worn look it will come together

I would be happy if I could paint camo like it though !

Look forward to seeing more on this

    Happy benchtime

I always end up with high gloss finish when using AV black. Ill add a matt varnish at a later date. WP_20210316_17_12_37_Pro (2).jpg

I was asked by some why the pouches werent made to fit the lower half of the bust.I.E-"Cut down".Well its because i wanted to have pouches proper size to offer for convertors etc, and there was a thought to make it as a full length figure at some stage. In hindsight i guess we should have made his nibs full length from the off and converted to a bust. All a learning curve and the initial excitement of our first release took over somewhat hehe.
    Cheers from Richard ( Mookies)

Swapped the head with the royal marine from the new Mitches bust. I really should have sorted the mounting on this first as its had a few knocks after toppling over already. Nothing too dramatic but my heart has been in my mouth a few times. Still tons to do but no rush, I'm happy working my way through this one.

    Hi there

Do like the way the piece looks now , the addition of the beret adds more

Why not enter a piece into the class of your choice in our FOTM comp and also vote in previous months classes as well as voting in Vignette & Diorama comp #2

Always good to see the artwork

    Thanks for sharing

    Look forward to the next

    Happy benchtime
