Wow! I think that this must be based on the famous Picture Post magazine cover picture in autumn 1944. The subject is Maureen Dunlop, who served with the ATA, the Air Transport Auxiliary, whose job was to deliver finished aircraft from factories to military airfields.

What a wonderful miniature! Thanx to LIFE Miniatures for releasing this one of Maureen Dunlop de Popp (1920-2012).
Here's a short article about the Spitfire pilot in the Sydney Morning Herald.

That is quite some sculpt -digital or physical!
I've always wanted to sculpt this myself but never got to it. Will have to get one.

An excellent figure and long overdue tribute to the ATA pilots. Will there be a 75mm release as well?

Interesting it's available in 1/32 as well, so will be a great addition to a 1/32 British aircraft model.

Thanks for the correction - shouldn't have trusted the Telegraph...

Found this one on the real Ms Popp on youtube: Anglia News from 2007 on her 70th anniversary.

    Cheers

See, I'd like a version in 1/20th, because that's a great figure to go with Maschinen Krieger kits. She'd work well as a merc pilot (they're the good guys in that 'verse).

    Prost!
