WIP - Scots Guards (Falklands) Bust - Mitches Military Miniatures | planetFigure | Miniatures

1/9 scale resin bust, sculpted by Pavol Ovicek (Offo)
Painted in Vallejo, S75 and Citadel acrylics. Base by Pete's Bases with RP Toolz mount

An enjoyable exercise over seven days. I particularly appreciate the input from Steve (Reedees), Viking Bob and Nap. I am pleased with the outcome but I need a lot more practice with acrylics on flesh.

Very nicely done Phil. I like the flesh as I don’t really like the excessive contrast but that is just my personal choice. The beret and the DPM looks really good. Spot on mate, well done.

Thanks Graham, I appreciate that. I agree on the contrast - I like to paint mine to look realistic (to my eye at any rate) and I know that isn't popular nowadays, as most of the better painters tend to paint for the camera and studio quality lighting.

Hi all

I popped some more photos today using a neutral grey background, which I think is an improvement over the puke green I used earlier. Here you go:


While I'm on a mini-roll (chocolate of course) with camouflage I have a full figure on the bench which has two patterns of camo gear, which should be interesting. I'll post it to WIP tomorrow
