Nationality of this First-Empire Napoleonic Guard Grenadier

    Hello,

I have searched every book I own. I have searched the internet for hours. I cannot find a match.

My best guess is that this is a Spanish Guard Grenadier? But as far as I can tell, the Spanish did not wear plates on their bearskins.

I did find one reference that showed French grenadiers with white tunics... but not white pants... and I don’t know that the uniform plate was correct.

Is this based on a known real uniform, or is it fantasy (which explains why I cannot find a reference match)?

    Thanks for any help.

It could be a Neapolitan in the service of Joseph Bonaparte:-

Thank you for these. I should have the figure in hand in the coming week, and then I will be better able to examine the uniform details. It’s the cut of the tunic that is throwing me off, I think.

Has anyone here ever seen a painted version of the kit? I don’t recall ever seeing an example of the kit assembled/painted.

    Hi,
IMHO it depicts a French Grenadier in the period between 1806 - 1807 when France due to the British blockade of the continent had to face a shortage of indigo blue and changed the uniforms to white.
