Good day, maybe this was asked before or discussed ,not sure , but what are some opinions on the scale 75 artist acrylics....I've seen some nice work with them, then again I might not be able to achieve that but are they worth the price tag , they seem a bit expensive....please give thoughts , I love this hobby and don't mind spending but are they worth the cost ,btw I use vallejo , some craft store paint ,andrea , I haven't tried these yet, please let me know ....thanks in advance Jim

They’re my favorite. They have high pigment content and more importantly for me, they dry dead flat. Every single one of them unlike Vallejo. I used Vallejo for years on gaming figs because I use a matte varnish. Since I can’t do that for historicals I switched to Scale 75.

I concur, Scale 75 are really high quality stuff. As Kevin says, I've always found them dead matte and very consistent.

AK now has its version under Abteilung 502 called dense tube acrylics...similar idea and dry matte...the consistency and matte aspect differ from artist acrylics..and unlike artist stuff they don’t provide pigment info...but do seem true to the label- a turquoise is indeed so...have found the abteilung oil range a bit dodgy that way so hard to order online ..the AK thins, works well with their retarder gel, and glaze medium...
